Parkzone Spitfire
Nice electric park flyer - RTF out of the box, just about!
This was the second plane that I purchased after about 10 years since the last time I laid hands on a set of RC sticks. I decided to check out an electric model as the previous gas model I had was just a total loud mess, and half of my troubles with previous gas setups had mostly to do with the engine itself... starting it, cleaning it, and cleaning everything around it as it spits oil everywhere. Filthy mess.
I had been reading that electric has gotten a lot better than years ago... so I impulsively purchased this from my local Hobbyland hobby shop. I should have taken more (any) pictures of it, especially after the first crash. I did a miraculous pair of surgical exercises on this plane and resurrected it twice from utter destruction. Naturally, however, after each repair was another total destruction event as, at this point, I was going in "cold" and unpracticed. I should have known better.
So it now lives on the
Wall of Shame∞
Spitfire Reborn
Like my
Ultimate Bipe, this plane has pretty inexpensive replacement parts, so I have chosen to get a replacement airframe for it, and do a guts transplant. So this plane will be resurrected also as it was a very fun plane to fly for the brief moments that my amateur butt tried to fly it!
Behold the bashed-in nose of the old fuse:

This puppy actually crashed THREE TIMES. I am actually proud of some of the orthopedic surgery I performed to get her back in the air. But, alas, even my skilled hands have their limits. Steven Austin, this plane is not.
It's nice that they actually expect people to crash these things, so they have a great line of replacement parts. In fact, they also expect dumb schmucks like myself to actually completely total theirs, so they sell an
entire replacement airframe for a very affordable price! Here's a pic:
It looks like the whole plane... um... cuz it is. Except the brains.
But I'll tell ya - these planes are a whole heckuva lot easier to put together than those balsa puppies I have been fiddling with. Plastic and foam. Pretty easy. So the finished product looks good as new!! Better, maybe!
I'd call her "The Phoenix", but that name is reserved for my Biplane, once it's done... as it will fly again as well.
