I won't bother discussing why I haven't posted since the vikings were looking unstoppable early in the last season. It is what it is. Life is different for me now, and the Vikes lost to the Saints anyway. *sigh*
I will, however, urge you to read up on one of the COOLEST things I have read recently in modern motorsports. It's cool because it makes me wish I could do something just as amazing, and gives us rustbucket lovers some hope! It's a cinderella story of Epic WRC proportions, makes me want to take my six on the road. If you haven't already seen it, I'll sum up for you, and judge ye fairly if ye want to learn more about how he did it... it's a wild ride.
A daring gentleman named Bill Caswell bought a 1991 BMW 318i off Craigslist for about $500. That same daring gentlemen modded it up on the cheap (didn't even bother really washing it), and entered it in the Mexico round of the World Rally Championship (WRC). He had no crew, no budget, and no spare parts. If you know how punishing WRC racing is - you will know that is pretty much stupid even to try... things WILL break. Your dad better be a television repair man.
Apparently, Bill did have the ultimate set of tools, cuz that guy managed 3rd place overall against half-a-million-dollar fully funded WRC teams. Joe Six-Pack, meet Kimi Raikkonen, and leave him struggling in the wake of dust and mechanically separated suspension bits. Read on via the link below - vid and pics abound, and wide eyed amazement that he kept this baby together. (and boy did it take some punishment)

If this guy can do this - surely I can finally put that R6 I have been eying into a last place AMA finish? :P
